.avi + .srt (subs) into DVD format, how to?
I have these files on my server and I want to create a DVD so it can be played on a DVD player. Any of you know how to? What programs do you use, if any, to create this?
Normally i just watch these things on my XBox, but my g/f wants to get some stuff from me so I need to burn it. |
www.download.co.uk should have stuff, usually works when im looking for stuff

Not sure... but I know a Philips642 dvd player, can play avi files with .srt subs.

Doom9 has more than you'll ever need to know on the topic, or any topic regarding encoding or decoding video. :thumbsup

I have all the links to the software, but I need to know what it is you peeps use, there's a ton of stuff and I need to know which works best.
FYI: Here's another good source http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...llcategory.php |
there are 2 ways to do this:
1. the easy way - IF your DVD player can also play DivX, Xvid, Mpeg4 and so on, just compress the avi to one of those formats, burn the stuff on one CD, avi and .srt in the same folder, and there ya go... 2. If the DVD player doesn't know about Mpeg4...only pure Mpeg2 DVD format, heh, that's the hard way, the only program i know of that does OK at putting .srt filez on the avi and convests all to Mpeg 2 is TMPGEnc. However, it RENDERS the.srt over the video, so it's gonna be there forever, no way to take it out... link here http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html |
