OT- Has anyone ever spent some time in the Phillipines?
 

Has anyone ever spent a month or so in the Phillippines? I want to go (a friend invited me), but how hard is it to get internet access in order to do work? Thanks.

I've spent some time inside a Filipino, if that is any help.

you will find lots of internet cafe around Manila especially if you are staying around Makati area. 5 star and 4 star hotels have broadband connections

it's pretty civilized here you know.;)

Angeles City also has about 12 internet cafes per block.

Of course they are full of kids that will want to know what kind of site Go Fuck Yourself is :)

internet access is mostly fast and cheap, lots of internet cafes, however a private hard phone line is harder to setup and i don't know how much work you can do on adult sites from an internet cafe loaded with surfers.

price range 20-50 pesos/hour (40cents to 1 dollar per hour) at internet cafe.

It's pretty easy to get connected to the internet, in cities like manila, cebu, davao etc. Where are you going in particular, don't tell me you're going to the countryside, or you'd just be wasting time finding one.
