They are dying of a terminal illness and don't want to die like that....so they choose when, how and where they will take their last breath :(

I think Dr.Kervorkein was a true freakin Hero. Those people were in pain it wasn't going to get better. Thats a good reason. If you had a treminal illness and your quality of life is progressively getting worse.

There are several reasons why one would kill themself but they boil down to the following:

Severe depression (perhaps they were abused or just too damn lonely)
Terminally ill (maybe they couldn't afford the medical expenses)
Mentally unstable (one doesn't have to be sad to be nuts)

Because your life has taken a huge dump on itself.

For example, you are going to jail for something that you didn't do which causes you to lose your high paying job which both leads to your wife filing for divorce and taking your kids 1000 miles away from you.

You know, shit like that - that would pretty much do it for me I think!

reasons:
their house burned down (and they dont have home owners insurance), their cars burned up in the attached garage (and the cars werent insured either), and their pets & family died in the house fire, and they just got fired from work the day before.

oh, and hes about $500,000k in debt.

Funny thing I bet there are those on this thread who support pulling the feeding tube from Terry Schiavo because it was "her choice," but would call others who made that choice while terminally ill...whatever weak.

This thread was made *before* Peaches made hers. I also felt kinda bad about posting in it, but at the time she hadn't posted yet and no one knew. Wouldn't bother me if the whole thing was deleted now, though.

There's no good reason to end one's life. It's plain stupid.
