International Money Orders??
 

I got a check from a sponsor who's located in London..
I think It's a money order..(It looks like one..)

HSBC, international branch, Poultry London?
It's a handwritten check..
I usually go to the supermarket & cash checks, but this being from London & that it's handwritten..I don't think they'll cash it..
Anyone here ever have a similar problem? What'd you do..

Opening a bank account's not an option...

The supermarket & check cashing comapnies don't cash hand written checks..particularly international ones...
I'll just have to deposit it into a buddy's account..

HSBC is one of the biggest banks in the UK. I would imagine you need to go to your bank and ask them about their forgien check cashing process.

I know that when I get US checks here in the UK I need to give them to the bank who sends it away and then puts the exchanged amount in my account. The downside of this is that American Express runs the service they send it to and they take huge chunks of comission.

The British Pound is hardly a rare currency so if you live anywhere near civilization I am sure a bank will be able to help you.

HSBC has an office in New York..worse comes to worse call the opperator and find it.

That IS your solution spacedog. Ask yourself a couple questions. 1 - Am I running a business? 2 - Why the hell isn't it registered as such?
Go downtown, register spacedog entertainment, and open a business account with a bank. Your personal debts are totally unrelated to your future business debts. Of course, I don't live in the US, but that's how it works around here.

Actually, something just dawned on me. What sponsor is located in London and pays personal checks in pounds?

Honestly, as some one who pays a bum load each month to send checks around to get them converted *into* pounds, I would love to know.

The sad thing about all this is that spacedog is almost a mirror image of me.

I dont have a cc, my credit sucks, I owe.... I owe, I never registerd as a business yet, I cash my checks at the local grocery store and yes I have worked there as a stocker :o)

But thanks to this industry it is all slowly changing for me. And I think it will for the dog aswell.
