Are your servers in SAFE MODE?
Our host tells us that WE REALLY NEED to have SAFE MODE on .. but then we can't create folders etc etc from our scripts, and that SUCKS
What do you think? |
move hosts...
why do you need to be in safe mode? |
sorry for the n00b question but what is safe mode ?
|
I'd like to add, that this if for our servers running pay sites on PHP and MySQL.
Gallery servers are a whole different thing IMO. |

is this a dedicated server? if so turn it off. i can understand them turning it on if its a shared server
|
"Safe mode" is a a controversial PHP mode that some think is safer, and some think is not.
If a dedicated server, ask to speak to someone who knows what they are talking about, no reason to turn safe mode on. If a shared server, its their call. |
move. now.
|
Safe mode is only for virtual/shared hosting

Safe Mode is a good thing. If you can't run safe mode you should use suPHP as a wrapper.
