Travel advisories are released by the US Embassy every now and then,
specifically in the southern part of the country. As long as you stay in Manila, you'll be safe.

Shit - I am supposed to me out there in a couple weeks. It looks like I may be attacked by MILFs - at least:

The updated travel advisory named the "terrorist groups" as the Indonesia-based Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), the local extremist group Abu Sayyaf and renegade rebels of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) ? both based in Mindanao.

... get over it, 9/11 was a one time show, won't happen again, but works great to scare a nation of 850 million people.

nahhh...give some updated articles please

BRISK 03-28-2005 04:10 AM

You probably have a much greater chance being killed by simply driving in a car or bus in the Philippines than by terrorists.

It's kind of like how people are very afraid of flying, even though they're like 100 times more likely to be killed by getting in their car and driving to the grocery store.

ITG-Obi 03-28-2005 06:21 AM

just go to safe and secure places and you should be alright..

Yes the MILF's are on top of their game.. they once held the number 1 spot on google for the term "MILF".
