Email Collection Boxes......Multiple Sites posting to One DB?
 

I know it can be scripted but is there a script out there already for this?

Yeah there is email collection affiliate program software, just use that

there are some good cheap ones you can buy. That you add to your site, not send to some affiliate program.
I use one of the more popular ones.

you dont want one that just collects them but will also allow you to send emails to the addresses you collected, you also want double opt-in and opt out and the ability to send email as either text or html format.

mine allows you to have different databases so that you know where the email address came from so you can optimize your email campaign to match the persons interests.

Just set it up using two tables..

table 1: "sites"
id, site_name

table 2: "emails"
id, site_id, email, other fields...

then each time you put an email in the db in table 2 you just put the site_id in with it.. then you can seperate them with that id..

What are you trying to do exactly? Does it matter which site this is coming from? If not you can simply add your script to all your sites and simply configure it on one DB server. If you want to track referring sites you may want to do something as mortenb suggested.
