It did get broken into, some guy broke the latch. And, of course the money was fake except for the bills on top.

Reminds me of that clip that gets played every now and then on weird vid shows... they interview a guy who is very positive about the quality of his glass, saying that it absolutely cannot be broken. Cut to a shot of him bringing a hammer down... and smashing it. :1orglaugh

Nice shape charge would do the trick. Hits the glass at four different points and the reverberations cause a small, razor-thin fracture that spreads along the surface. Must be skilled, use the right explosives and set the points up just perfect though.
