That was a verry good read.

I think we need to do some major changing as an industry. It is only going to be time when google or yahoo or other outlets we have close us out.

It makes life very difficult when you have the top people semi playing by the rules and acting like businessmen and then the rest is filled out with cheaters and kids. It sounds crazy but an online porn union would not be a bad thing to institute. That way we could try and weed out all the bad seeds.

Good points. It's unfortunate that like in every other industry a few bad seeds can destroy the image for all. The adult industry is always going to be in the "bad books" to everyone else, even when so many industry leech off it's success.

Agreed!

It seems to me a large part of the problem is that even many of the BIG players, the most talented people in the business, are acting like we're going to get shut-down any day now, and they may as well make whatever money they can while they can, in ANY way they can.

Nobody's really looking at tomorrow with any optimism, so:

1. We're still NOT respecting the customer,

2. We're NOT taking any STRATEGIC steps to protect ourselves from the legal dangers -- (as I discuss in the article), and...

3. We're still NOT really working TOGETHER as players -- a standardized platform for sharing customer data BETWEEN programs is just one idea, but there are many ways for us to cooperate better.

We have to make a decision, people:

Are we gonna do down in history like Moonshiners, who made a quick buck playing demand against legality, then disappeared?

Or, are we going to impress the entire business world with our intelligence, our understanding of the medium, our capacity to innovate and invent and our indefatigable spirit?

I know which way I'm pushing...

J,

I couldn't agree with you more. I am by no means a veteran in this business but with my limited expereince I can already see all the things you have pointed out.

I don't think people are taking this article and the message it brings as seriously as they should. Its very important stuff and if you people are really looking you will see that certain people AFF and LL have been making strategic moves to be here in a big way for the long term. I am now understanding more than before the real benefits and strength that this merger will provide. I think this shit is as serious as a heart attack but people keep disregarding the doctors orders. Sooner or later we will all have to pay the piper.

I am not the person that should be starting a union or some other governing body but I would be in full support of cleaning up the industry. It is amazing to see thread after thread of scammer posts and bullshit. I know that GFY is a relaxed but still......

I'm not a veteran, either -- and I think it's HELPED give me the perspective to see some things more clearly.

No one likes to hear they have to change or do something differently -- especially when they're driving vans of cash to the bank every week.

But I have faith that my exceptionally rational argument (I hope it's read that way -- LOL), will take root.

I have an indefit...indefot...indafut...tireless spirit!!!

Of course I also have a indefatigable (tireless) car:
