It was areally weird situation. She knows I've had a problem with coke in the past. So today I came out of the back door and saw her sitting there doing a line off a little cosmetics mirror. She was all like "oh, I'm not doing anything" but then I made her give me the coke. I was pissed and was about to tear into her but then I realized how hypocritical that would be. So I snorted what was left and passed her the mirror with a line on it. She did a double-take and looked really confused, but finished the line. Then I was all confused, I realized this probably wasn't the best parenting maneuver, but I didn't know waht to say and it was too late to take it back. Fuck, I just went inside and locked myself in my office where I've been drinking for the past 6 hours.

And drinking isn't the answer. Wait for the buzz to go away, then talk to her. Tell her what you've just told us. You can't stop her from using, to try to do so will only make her resent you and become increasingly cold, angry, and spiteful toward you, but you CAN forbid her to bring her shit home.
Explain bad situations you've been in due to drugs. Tell her that you love her and don't want her to end up in those situations or worse ones. Let her know that you're serious about not having the shit in your house, and should you find it, it gets flushed and she gets put on lockdown.
I don't know how much this will help, but speaking from my own memories as a teen with a fucked up mom, I didn't need the lecture to stay clean. I just watched my mother as she got further and further down the spiral. Scary shit.

I remember the first time I came home stoned on pot; my mom knew something was amiss and sat me down on the couch after I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and right away she asked "what are you on." I couldn't eat the most yummy sandwich I ever made and ended up having a conversation with her, mostly about how I thought marijuana was OK and her telling me it wasn't. I smoked pot for years after that and eventually stopped, but I'll always remember her trying to be a figure against something that may harm me, because she loved me and didn't want me to hurt myself.
I think in regard to coke, it's a different situation as that drug can fuck up a person in ways marijuana could never.
I'd have a "sitdown" with your daughter and tell her the truth about the drug as you experienced it and why you quit. Get so emotional about it, start crying. She's an individual and will do what she wants, but at least she'll always have the image of you pouring your soul out over such an evil substance that maybe it might change her mind in some situations.Your post count means nothing.Comment

God damn, catch a 16 yo girl snorting coke by herself. WTF is this world coming to, FUCK! My younger brother was into hardcore drugs, well he was basically a junkie at the age of 14. What finally saved his life was he got busted with weed at school (thank god they didnt catch him with crack, coke, or speed the shit he always did), he was sentenced to a summer of rehab, and he ended up getting straightened out enough to save his life. Nowadays he is still drinking and smoking weed (something alot of us do socially) but lays off the hard shit. He even ended up graduating high school.Comment
