Royce Gracie - It aint about size when it comes to kicking ass

Royce Gracie Undefeated Ultimate Fighting Champion

"you don't have to be a monster to be the champ. You don't have to be the biggest guy or the one who hits the hardest. And you don't have to get hurt in a fight."

Royce Gracie's opponents consistently outweighed him by more than 50 pounds like dan severen, Kimo Leopoldo by 80 lbs and many others -

Royce Gracie lost 2 fights in other competitions

Gracie lost for the first time in a grappling-only match with another Brazilian-jujutsu expert, Wallid Ismail, by a "clock choke." at the Rio Oscars of Jiu-Jitsu at Copacobana Beach on December 17, 1998

Gracie conceded a match against the renowned champion Kazushi Sakuraba Gracie could no longer stand and suffered a broken femur at the Pride Grand Prix 2000 - Finals

He did not lose against any huge guys but against skilled martial artists, proving that brute force and size wins fights

Gracie gave hope to thousands of martial artists who, like him, may not be the biggest or the strongest in their dojo, but who depend on perfect technique to overcome their opponents in competition.

Royce VS someone like... The Big Show from the WWE.

Big Show could be totally untrained, and I think he would take out Gracie. He is 7 feet tall, 470 pounds, and in good shape.

How tall is Gracie? weight?

once you're in close & grappling...height & size doesnt become much of a factor

HAPPYPEEKERS 03-25-2005 10:36 PM

He is still my very very favorite after all of these years.. Just seeing him wrap someone up like a snake and choke them out makes me horny lol

Big Show would have no chance against Royce or anyone else in NHB fighting. There are people bigger than him with more skills actually fighting and getting owned in NHB right now, see Royce's last fight against Akebono.

If you don't know submission fighting you're going to lose every single time.

Watching his first fight against Heath Herring was hilarious. It was like a freak show.

If he had to fight without his robe, forgot the proper name for it gey? he would get his ass kicked. He uses it like a weapon to pull off his submission holds.

he has one a lot of matches without the gee. He is used pressure points on the elbow and the knee against kickboxers.

On of his shortest matches was against a striker who tried to kick him in the head

gracie took the shot in the head, grabbed the ankle and fell away, it looked like he went down from a thundering shot, except gracie tied the leg up and the next thing you see is the kickboxer tapping out in pain because gracie popped his knee.

The Gi is a disadvantage, he wears it out of respect for his grandfather Helio. And he actually doesn't wear it lately.
