They helped the Bush administration's agenda, so they get rewarded, regardless of the consequences (India is pissed off and says this will hurt Pakistani-Indian relations). What's news about this? Do you honestly think the neo-cons care about democracy, elections, freedom, security, and all the other nonsense they blab about to keep the herd in line? They don't, which is why they're more than happy to arm any terrorist supporting nation with an unelected leader, as long as it helps advance their agenda. However if they stand in the way of the neo-con agenda, they're evil. It's fairly simple to understand once you start completely ignoring their words and focus on their actions.

If anything, the neo cons dislike democracy. A country that goes along with the will of their people is weak, if that will happens to be not joining a neo-con war. A country that joins one of their wars against the will of the people is strong, a country to be praised, and rewarded.

I guess it's ok to sell fighter jets to third world countries so they can kill couple of thousands of people. As long as you keep the spammers in jail, the world will be a safer place.

However, they can't let Iran buy weapons to stop the drug trade. After all, Iran is evil.

Aren't countries supposed to be able to defend themselves against foreign invaders and know what's going on inside their countries? Not if you don't support the neo-con agenda.
