Pre-Registration for Internext is UP!
One question....$250/each is the Early Bird special rate.
It says: All Inclusive Attendee Registration Fee What ALL does that include? And wasn't it a lot cheaper last year? If someone knows please post here. Thanks! Mandy |
250 fucking bucks.. what a fucking joke..
so they dont make enuff off taxing for the booths, they dont make a big enuff cut off the rooms, they dont make enuff from the partys and they dont get enuff from banners, door hangers, bag stuffers all that shit.. while we are at it, lets tax the fucks who want to come i swear those mother fuckers are making more money off us then we are off surfers figure.. 50 booths at 5k a booth, 10 banner spots at 1k a banner, then 250 outta 2k people. so we have 50x 5000= 250000 10 x 1000= 10000 250 x 2000= 500000 jesus h christ. if i was them id have an internext once every 2 months ps thanks mandy, registering now =D |

This from the Vegas site...
ALL INCLUSIVE BADGE (includes Exhibit Hall, Seminars, Application Workshops, State of the Industry Keynote Address and any other special events) By October 31st - $250 After October 31st - $275 So the price didn't go up since then. Last year may have been cheaper though. I can't recall. |

damn expensive

Ok I wrote to them asking what all it included and here was the response I got:
Yes the cost to attend has gone up for this year. We have changed the format of the show so everyone must have a badge in order to enter the hotel. Last year you only needed a badge to enter the exhibit hall and conferences but not the hotel itself. The badge includes access into the hotel, exhibits and conferences. so crazy. |

what if i decide im not going to stay in the hotel? do i get 100 bucks off? i swear to christ ill do just that to start shit. i just dont understand where they get off ripping us off like this? dont get me wrong, i know its only 250, but still. im trying to look at the bigger picture here (3k people having to pay 250 a head) i mean with the sponsors forking over 20k a fuckin booth, jesus not only should we not have to fucking pay to get in, they should pay our air fare. they are making over a million bucks on this, and you cant tell me they arent gettin a kick back outta that hotel. |
lol for that price you should get your room included.
Serously, that price is waay waay to expensive. I want to go but I cant afford that ontop of a hotel, food and souveners. |
even though its expensive I don't see myself skipping the miami show...
should be a blast |
Internext has become a tremendous waste of money. I only plan on attending the parties and private seminars in the future to avoid paying AVN an unreasonable price. The floor shows and seminars are very unfruitful - almost a burden to the experience.

YARGH! Thanks Mandy, just registered.

YARGH! Quick question, on the bage do they put me handle, or me name?

Phoenix Show
The Phoenix Forum Show never charges for "early" registration guys. The show is free if you register on time early :) But after they reach a certain number of people, they close registration and then you have to pay at the door to get in.
|
hmm Yes I suppose they are making bank. Though maybe Florida rates went up due to umm what would you call it, ummm webmaster attendy related issues that could of possibly resulted in damages that had to be paid by AVN or their insurance (either way them).
|
I dunno but if u do not make $250 off the show.. then u should not go.. Just from the deals the 250 aint much. I of course like $150 better than $250, but is not that big of a deal!

I've been to Internext twice. Over those two times, I've probably spent at the most, 5 hours on the floor. I could easily not buy a pass and it wouldn't have any impact on my trip/business productivity. I personally haven't done this, but I'm sure there are many people that skip buying a pass and hang out in the lounge to meet and greet. AVN doesn't like that because they're missing out on the badge income. So what do they do? Make the "meet and greet" impossible. Instead of pissing everyone off, maybe they should try to embrace their "consumers" for once and develop a better product and make even more money. They're playing the monopoly card and it's working for now... but some of these other shows are getting pretty big... who knows how long they can continue to bank on that card. |

You have to tell them you are with the Internext conference and want the conference rate, or they will tell you the hotel is sold out. The other day we booked our room at the Westin Diplomat -- a corner suite with guaranteed high floor and ocean view :thumbsup good luck |
Hopefully requiring people to have a badge to enter the hotel & pool area will discourage all the non-industry people from hanging about- damn they're annoying.
It appears that not paying for seminars is not an option this year |

It's just...why such a huge difference from last year? I mean, I understand it all but it's fucked up. |
I think I see a trend here. As the show floors become less and less important, people are playing the "hang around near the show" game. In vegas I saw tons of people who didn't have badges who were hanging out in the hallway leading to the show, hanging in the center bar, and haning out at "friend's" parties... often because someone got them passes when they were on the floor.
You can have one badge, get tickets to all the parties for your whole crew, and never have to pay... save $750 for strippers and beer. Moving to secure the ENTIRE hotel is a very smart move from the show people, who will assure that everyone is there on an equal footing and insure value for sponsors, events, and exhibitors alike. It sucks - but you can blame the leeches for what is happening at these shows. Whole hotel take overs are the way to do it. Alex |
So you have to have a badge just to get into the hotel?
I was thinking of bring my wife so she could enjoy the room and relax away from our kid for a couple of days but not if I have to pay 250 for her just to be on the premises. |
good question
and when the hotel sells out, and you stay somewhere else (ive seen people with booths walking down the street to that other joint) do they still pay the extra 100 |
About the same price last year. No biggie, will see ya there
