The Problem With Todays Men's Fashions (Metrosexual Related)

Was surfing the net looking for some new summer fashions yesterday, and came across this great website www.urbanoutfitters.com

I see a lot of trendy/cool t-shirts that I wouldn't mind wearing just as a slight change of style...

Now here comes the tricky part..
Due to the metrosexual craze, a vast majority of the new trendy clothing is designed to cling to the body. This is the way women were their clothing in my cultural experience. The new clothing for men has an emphasis on slim fit, and all the shirts I looked at on this website came in a MAX of XL.....

I'm a bigger man than average...
I really am not interested in wearing a shirt that would expose my stomach...

In the metrosexual craze..
Men have started to dress like women....

no the real problem with clothing now is that they design the clothes for men with no muscle... I know some vietnamese boys who'd look fine in most clothes. But the rest of the population looks like sausages stuffed in too small casings.

Case in point being myself. 170lbs, 30.5" waist (43" chest if you are interested) and in fairly good shape (~12% bf). I go to themall, shop for several hours looking for a couple new pairs of pants... I find NOTHING in my size 32" because they wont go over my thighs, and if they do, it's so skin tight it's painful. Even most 34" sizes are too damned tight in the leg and crotch.

That's disgusting. I have a little muscle but am definitely not some muscle bound freak and I can't find pants to fit me.

I gotta find a company that does custom tailored pants - anyone know of any? My suits are all custom tailored, but day to day clothing? I never heard of custom tailored casual clothes but I think I need them now :|

MetaMan 03-25-2005 11:30 AM

men have started to dress like fags.

i have the exact same problems, i am not overweight but i have been a soccer goalie for 90% of my life and my legs and thighs are easily above average.

i have pants from like 4-5 years ago that still fit perfect, not when i go to stores to buy the same size they are to tight.

to many fags around carrying on the backstreet boy fashion, its sad, real sad.

Men's fashion?

A pair of khakis and a white shirt is all a man could need. And shave your head, hair is annoying.

Basic_man 03-25-2005 11:58 AM

I have one thing to say : Juicy will become a metrosexual soon !

Just a tid bit here.. my bf is 6'3 and 200 as well, (34 inch waste)

He's been able to find jeans that fit him at american eagle.(and they dont kling to his legs,he is muscular in the legs too) But perhaps you should check out nordstromes if you have one near you.

Both stores have worked for him in the past.

Ummm, that's my point. That's what I do... 3x a week lifting weights, 5x a week on the bike doing cardio. I'd say I'm a pretty healthy individual.

But unless I go on some starvation diet and run till I puke daily for 6 months, I won't be able to fit pants in the current trend... I actually have an ass and a bit of muscle, omg. Shirts and such look fine on me.

However, I see pot bellied boys with chicken legs wearing the same style of pants...

And then there is the skinny+fat metro boys who can wear them...
