My beloved Dell monitor is dead.

It passed away quietly while I was sleeping. It seemed so alive the night before, but when I awoke it was dark and silent, not even the power light was there to give me reassurance that it was only resting...

So, do I toss it and buy another one, or tinker with the insides?

RIP Dell monitor

Are they going to let you take off a day at work?

PokerCams 03-24-2005 10:05 PM

go for a MAC monitor - they never die - at least not so far

Illicit 03-24-2005 10:06 PM

monitors are disposable. buy a new one

eMonk 03-24-2005 10:07 PM

it probably needs a new tube inside. i fixed mine for about $150 (canadian). if its worth saving bring it into a local tv repair shop or just use this money into a new one.

Um, about 4-5 years. But it's never even blinked. Except there WAS this little thing with the power jack on the back of the monitor... It may be a loose connection just inside.

I think I'll open it up and see what's in there. :)

No kidding? That's good service! Mine's pretty old, though.
