Decided that since I've been a good buy and been working hard lately that I'd treat myself to a little something:

The main complaint I always had about the GBA was the dark dark screen, so dark you could barely make colours out even with the various lighting contraptions they added. Not a problem with the PSP, it's easily visible even in full daylight... bright, crisp, beautiful! Check out this still from spiderman 2 via my canon digital, no retouching aside from cropping:

Can't wait for GTA... coming May 16th. Mmmmm... handheld automotive mayhem. :thumbsup

What I'm also really interested in seeing is the ability to use the wifi to pull media over the air. Apparently the psp has the power to run programs from memory stick, so it should be theoretically possible for someone to put together a media player program that'll let us attach to file/media servers and stream video to the handheld. Now THAT would be a killer app... personal wireless .avi viewer.
