So i just tried to sign up for a ccbill site

My perfectly fine mastercard got declinded and my epass virtual visa got declined.

And this is far from the first time i tried to buy something through ccbill and it didnt work out.

Project-Shadow 03-24-2005 07:03 AM

The epass virtual visa doesn't work with ccbill. The mastercard however is a bit worrying =/

Dirty F 03-24-2005 07:04 AM

Ok, didnt know that.

The mastercard is fine..i used it last night in a restaurant for the last time.

Trax 03-24-2005 07:10 AM

that sucks bad but confirms exactly what I always thought about CCbill and their scrubbing...

Dirty F 03-24-2005 07:12 AM

Last year i referred i think 4 people advanced submitter of which 3 people got their card declined.

DarkJedi 03-24-2005 07:14 AM

ccbill scrubbing is very bad :(

Why not?

polish_aristocrat 03-24-2005 07:14 AM

Probably because you're European...

DutchTeenCash 03-24-2005 07:14 AM

ICS blocked a bunch yday due to some bigtime fraud, VISA for sure but Ive already heard 2 guys who got their MC blocked, mines not phey phey you might wanna give them a call

polish_aristocrat 03-24-2005 07:15 AM

but I agree this scrubbing sucks so much

what's the average scrub level nowadays? already 50%?

imagine how our stats would like if only 10-15% of transactions would be scrubbed

Dusen 03-24-2005 07:17 AM

I tried to buy a Bang submit pass and went through 3 credit cards before giving up. I believe they use CCBill.

It indicated that my area of the world was flagged as high fraud/risk. I'm from Canada.

Paycom accepts the epass visa however.

Then again I don't have to put up with fraud hassles like they do. So who knows overall.

the real scrub level is around 10-15%

I tried mine card a few times and it came through every time. Also a mastercard.

Franck, our fraud system looks at the culmination of many factors before determining whether to accept/decline a transaction. icq or email me the email address that you used when you got declined. i can check out the specific reason(s).

I guess that was not his point.

Would a surfer email you and go thru the hassle of getting his specific card "whitelisted" because it's fine and maybe just from a bank you had a few CB's from?

Scrubbing is all good and necessary, but imho CCbill is doing it way too hard.

But not that this is any news. :disgust

Joker, as with any processing company, we only decline cards when we believe that there is a valid reason to not accept the transaction, remember that our fee is a % of what we process, and declines cost us $. You will be very hard pressed to name a processing company that accepts every single transaction attempted.

I wanted to check out the decline reason and get on the same page with him with why it was declined, as a professional courtesy?

Imho, making a general judgment on the scrubbing techniques of a processing company off of one or two attempts from one consumer is similar to making a judgment on a website during a server reboot?we do accept thousands of transactions every hour

european processors scrubb far less, I can use my polish card to join f.e "Club Seventeen" but not a CCbill based site

but that's also nothing new :upsidedow

Basic_man 03-24-2005 08:20 AM

You are on the blacklist of CCBill :P

So having a % of CB's from certain banks is reason enough to put their complete cards on the blacklist, ergo blacklisting the bank?

Please point out where I implied there is any company doing that.

Do you offer that to every surfer that wants to join a site with a legit card but gets declined for some reason?

Get real, it's well known CCbill declines alot of cards that are in fact legit cards because the bank of the card has some historical % with chargebacks
in your DB.
It's not like this happens once in a while, and you know it.

I'm not looking for a pissing match with you by all means, just telling you CCbill is scrubbing way too hard, and that makes it harder to get an overall
good signup rate with any site that uses CCBill as their sole processor.

Proove me wrong if saying "CCbill has the hardest scrubbing of all 3rd party processors out there" is totally off the hook.

Is someone from CCbill going to be in Prague at the AOE, then we can have a sit down and talk this out in person as well :)

e-god 03-24-2005 08:46 AM

interesting. What is the 3rd biggest payment processor today? Verotel?

fair enough, yes we should have somebody at the show that you can discuss scrubbing declines at length with :)

Dr. Wicks 03-24-2005 09:30 AM

I will be in Prague at the show and will be happy to sit down with you and discuss CCBill in detail. CCBill will be sponsoring the Bar area at the entrance and I will be there each and every day. Please stop by and ask for me. I look forward to meeting you.

DraX 03-24-2005 09:38 AM

Im happy with ccbill

adonis 03-24-2005 02:01 PM

We see many CCbill declines since yesterday. Some of them could signup in the past. I don't like to see "Declined transaction" mails.
