Popunders Hurt SE Ranking?
Simple questions, do popunders hurt your SE ranking?
|
Any idea? Bump
|
why would they ?
|
Don't see how a search engine crawler / bot would know you're popping a window. Though, I'm retarded so don't listen to me.

Google generally doesn't like JavaScript (assuming your calling it that way), so it may just ignore it altogether ... and it likely won't follow it as a link ... so "no" is the best answer, really.
Can you put post a copy of the script/code you are using to call it? |
Excessive scripting could cause you some positions in the SERPs
HOWEVER If you keep it clean and neat, and follow your general setup it shouldent be much of a problem. |
Things I know, is that they can tell if your site in general has LOTS of popups, and might have some percentage penalty. not sure if google or any se uses that, but I know if you look up a domain on alexa.com is can tell you the percentage of the site that pages have popups
What i do know is that sites with alot of javascript in the top of their pages (as well as the very BOTTOM) will NOT rank well, I was able to get alot better results including the javascript in an external .js file and loading that with a one liner in the html |
