Seriously dude. No joke. I'd like to call them directly at the very least. I'm thinking my site must have somehow slipped through the cracks, or the more likely scenario the URL is sitting on someone's desk under a pile of magazines... or a cup of coffee got spilled on the memo.

FelixFlow 03-23-2005 02:39 PM

pay the $750 fee ?

BigTymer01 03-23-2005 02:40 PM

Why not get merchant processing? I did :thumbsup

if u want a referral and do at least 30-40k a month hit me up.

Sosa 03-23-2005 02:40 PM

heh sucks when your waiting for that, got the new site ready to rock and roll and just have to wait.

Yo whats the actual process, is it via the biller, do they send the url off and let you know when its approved? Whats the turnaround time usually for a site thats not high risk?

The 3rd party biller recieves the fee, and sends the URL to VISA for their approval. Apparently they pick their buttholes for a month before they come to any conclusion.

Low risk sites don't have an approval process, they get it instantly.

Kimmykim 03-23-2005 02:49 PM

Visa isn't exactly setting the world record in the hundred yard dash on merchant account approvals at the moment either.

DeanCapture 03-23-2005 02:52 PM

Jeeeez man - you still haven't gotten approval on your website? Is it Paycom that's dragging their feet or Visa? That's freak'n rediculous man!

Kim, how tough is it for adult sites get a merchant account? I hear a million different stories, ranging from easy to tough as hell. What's the truth behind it?

What porn site could possibly be considered low risk?

If you have clear credit and processing history (even with an ipsp) its not that hard to get set up. the trick is staying away from the sketchy ppl. wats ur email xenigo? i will give it to the guy who helped me out.

if Visa rejects your site, do you get the $750 refunded?

it's not just you...we've been waiting for along time also

MandyBlake 03-23-2005 04:09 PM

yeah 4 weeks seems like a very long time. any company i've talked to said 1-2 weeks.

Snake Doctor 03-23-2005 04:18 PM

It took me a couple weeks to get approved.....which wasn't bad, I know people who waited for 3+ months.

Depends on your processor I think. Paycom had a very detailed list of things I had to comply with before they'd send the site to Visa....instead of submitting it, getting it rejected, having to fix the problem, and re-submitting it.

CybermedAndy 03-23-2005 04:21 PM

Well this is encouraging... just submitted my PAycom VISA app today...

:(

Getting a merchant account depends on several things

location, transaction history, and volume are the big 3

US mercs - lowest rates
I deal with one bank that wants volume only if its over 30k per month - good credit (need trans history)
another wants only those over 100k per month - great credit (need trans history)
and yet another than wants UNDER 20k per month - decent credit (does not need trans history but its useful if you have it)

offshore and/or non US mercs
- higher rates and fees
while one bank needs stellar credit, great transaction history and over 100k
another couple need good credit, good trans history and over 20k
some want everything but dental records and others simply require basic company info.
some of these require local incorporation (incorp fees be from $2500 +)and others don't

most have other fees like these:
$500 - setup fee
$500 - application fee (due AFTER pre-approval)
$100 - monthly minimum fee
$150 - month maintenance fee
$30-35 - chargeback fee
so you see, with an offshore if you don't do over 20k or so a month the fees can eat into your profit margins. But when you are paying rates of 6% instead of 15 .. well you can do the math ;)

The best way to find out how difficult it would be to get your own merchant account is to speak one on one with a rep, they can pretty much give a once over of your info and know if its going to fly or not.

I'd be happy to help if you like
and don't worry, I'm not a newbie to the industry, I've been here since 1997 lol

hope this helps clear some things up for you :)

Man, times are definitely changing :( Is there a multi-tier screening system now or is it just on a categorical basis?

aico 03-23-2005 06:25 PM

My last site with Paycom took 3 days to get Visa approved...

DirtyDanza 03-23-2005 07:24 PM

yeah paycom has always been great with me.... so has ccbill and any others the only time it was bad was with jettis.. I got declined because of a phrase I had on one of my girls on like the 4th page.. something along the lines of " this little dadddys girl loves the cock that daddy gave to her" daddy being me something like that and it was declined oh well....

Who gives a shit.....we use Netbilling and get new sites up when we WANT them up.

If you are just venting, thats cool....been there. And I feel your pain brother.

If you are looking for a solution, hit up Mitch at NETBILLING. Best move we made in years.

wimpy 03-23-2005 09:22 PM

Paycom has had my new account waiting for Visa approval for almost 4 months now.

Netbilling does seem to be a good company. We're integrating them now for another site and support is very good. The admin system looks very nice also. I'm looking forward to Netbilling powering my sites.

I have to agree. Netbilling is really kicking ass with setting up accounts and processing.
