The porsche, I don't like the look of the Range Rover, too "boxy" for my taste. The cayenne is curvy/sexy :Graucho

Trax 03-23-2005 02:31 PM

I think the range rover looks a bit more classy, more down to earth...

ChewbaCreative 03-23-2005 02:35 PM

hehe, only porsche! :)

Theo 03-23-2005 02:37 PM

i like both, but the reselling price of RR is almost a joke

imafuckingaussie 03-23-2005 02:39 PM

I think those two cars u mention are like comparing a crack whore to a catwalk model LOL.

Anyway, I would check out the VW 4wd, saw a review on the tv one day, they were comparing it to the cayenne, and it kicked its ass, they are awesome, although the page below doesnt do the look of it justice.

http://www.vw.com/touareg/

take some for a test drive.

candyflip 03-23-2005 02:41 PM

I'd pass them both up and go with the 10 Cylinder VW Toureg.

maddox 03-23-2005 03:18 PM

I drove a Land Rover and I must say I was shit scared, the car felt so unstable in corners that in 3 minutes I said enough! From what I heard Cayenne has as good driving abilites as 911

MaDalton 03-23-2005 03:26 PM

what question is that - porsche

GTS Mark 03-23-2005 03:26 PM

The porsche is just so damn ugly, I could never buy one. The new RR Sport looks fucking awesome!

DH

Minte 03-23-2005 03:29 PM

I've driven the Cayenne. It rides and handles much more like a car than you'd think. With the benefit of AWD when you need it.No experience in the RR,but based on what i've read it would seem to be much more truck like.

I agree totally :thumbsup

effer 03-23-2005 03:33 PM

Lets face it, when you see someone in the Porsche SUV you're thinking: woman driver, grey haired driver, or complete WUSS. If you don't really want an SUV buy a car.

Cains 03-23-2005 03:33 PM

do you mean a Range Rover or a Land Rover (discovery/etc). 2 different beasts, Landies are built pretty cheaply

As for topic, Cayenne standard handles OK but lacks any real power, the turbo is a real beast though, but are you looking for a performance SUV?

Range is dignified, it can go off-road (as can the cayenne) but it's built more for inner city driving.

I'd go with a cayenne turbo, it's just mean

effer 03-23-2005 03:35 PM

If you go to Japan you will see a lot of boxy cars. As well as lots of things from our future.

I take both Trayce and JEEP :1orglaugh

Trax 03-23-2005 03:41 PM

still not convinced of either one
but there's one thing I know for sure. no jeep, no touareg.
I won't be doing any backsteps with the choice of my cars.

keep comments coming though :)
its appreciated

Have you seen new Land Rover? It's not only facelifting, but completely new!
I was it first yesterday on the street and my head almost jumped out of the window:)

gecko 03-23-2005 03:43 PM

I'll go with the porsche

The Dawg 03-23-2005 04:30 PM

I looked at both and the Porsche is built on the same frame as the VW model. The Porsche is not a head turner either. That SUV blends in with traffic and thats not something thats acceptable for the $$$.

I'd go with the Range Rover.

I agree... land rovers are junk.. even the new ones... kinda like comparing an H1 and an H2.. no comparison....

cayanne turbo S is a bad ass SUV... and from what I understand.. the resale value and depenabiltiy is also better...

quiet 03-23-2005 04:44 PM

the turbo version of the cayenne. i've driven one, they are fucking crazy powerful for an suv. just tons of power.

KarupLou 03-23-2005 04:53 PM

DO NOT BUY A RANGE ROVER. I love the look of it, but an old man passed out at the wheel and crashed into mine. It took 5.5 months to get parts and back to me. So I get it back and within a month the drive shaft completely strips out and it will not drive. Left me stranded in the middle of a very busy intersection. Goes into the shop and lo and behold....parts on back order. Luckily I only had to wait 1 month for it this time. My point is I owned the truck now for 24 months exactly and it was in the shop for over 6 months of those 24 months and neither time was my fault. I told them about this and they are aware of it, but only could say it will get better. For 80k a pop thats a shitty reply. I would go with a Lexus, they treat you like a king for your business. :2 cents:

Lou

Pornwolf 03-23-2005 04:55 PM

Range, hands down. Only soccer moms drive the Cayenne.

imafuckingaussie 03-23-2005 04:57 PM

Yeh, nice vehicle, that would be my choice with unlimited $$ and the need for a SUV.

Sad thing is they both could use some body changes.
They're far from perfect body and style wise.

I'd probably get a RR though, since I'm a big guy.
