ICQ problems?
 

Anyone having problem loging in to icq?

All morning im having trouble and it keeps on telling me that i have tried too many times and to try again in few min... it's been 2 hours now :(

does anyone know what to do?

install new version (icq5.0)

Been having problems off and on for a week or so.

T Error number: 0400, 0401, 0402, 0403, 0404, 0405, 0406, 0407, 0408, 0409, 0410, 0411, 0412, 0413, 0414, 0415, 0416, 0417, 0801.

A. Error message text: Can't establish connection. Please check your Internet or ICQ connection and try again.

These messages indicate that the ICQ program installed on your computer could not connect to the ICQ network.

This may be caused by one or more of the following reasons:
1. You have lost your connection with your Internet Service Provider.
2. The connection between your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and our servers was lost.
3. Our servers were undergoing upgrades at the time.

ICQ 5 uses several servers. While connecting, the main server (login.icq.com, port 5190) is contacted and searches for the first available server.
In order to make sure your server settings are correct, click the Setup button in the login window.
Make sure the address under the ICQ Server is: login.icq.com, port 5190.

In case you are still experiencing problems connecting to ICQ please try changing the address of the server to: login.icq.com, port 443.

I've had that problem before many times which is one reason I switched to Trillian.

Exact same thing happening here..(error 0406 or "You've tried to log in too many times). I tried to reboot, re-install, switch versions, run the database optimizer.. finally the only thing that worked was powering down the machines, rebooting the modem/router, switching the port I was plugged into and then powering everything back on. The downside, you have to do this 1-2 times a day.

And oddly enough you should notice that you can access other ICQ numbers without running into any problems. You should also be able to use the sucky web based version (icq2go)
