i'd rather give money to a homeless person on the street

YARGH! Charities be good. Aside from helping with yer booty, you also get some breaks from the fruity fruits at the IRS.

I give to the VFW only.

I give to charities - it suits me, probably isn't for everyone.

I've only ever gave money to charities for animals...

i give mostly to children.

I too donate primarily to children and animal charities. Probably because of their vulnerability..

Just feels good to do my part in helping those that need the help.

Look into the charity you are giving to. Many end up wasting your money through 'administrative fees.' If you're unsure, go with large charities like the International Red Cross and United Way.

not too sure if the money you give to charities all goes directly to the beneficiaries.
id rather give to street beggars
