How to upsell without pissing off members
 

It's been posted that upselling lowers retention yet some programs upsell within their sites.

What are the best ways to upsell but keep members happy at the same time. You're in effect asking them to shell out more money after they've paid for access to your site. What methods do you guys use (those of you who upsell)?
