Now I'm not a very introspective kind of guy, or a 'deep' guy... But sometimes I can't help but look at people, any people. Look at what they're doing at that very moment, selling flowers, playing cards, looking at their computer, dressed up in a suit going to work, sitting down having a chat.... and I realize... that everything everyone ever does, is just to kill time before they die. We're all just trying to stay occupied so we dont go crazy. It's all in total vane(sp?). We're as bad as a trout swimming upstream. We are all wasting time until we die. That's it. A dog chases his tail, a goldfish swims around.

I know all you happy people are going to post 'It's all what you make of it' blah blah blah.. That's such shit. *YOU'RE* biding your time by pretending to feel like you have meaning in this world.

And for the record, I *am* happy in the way that I bide my time, but it doesnt stop me from realizing I too, am just killing time.

I was just at a shopping mall thinking the same thing. Saw a girl in a store vacumming the carpet and I'm thinking to myself what are you doing with your life at this very moment. And then I realized what was I doing wasting my time thinking about the uselessness of her life.

You are totally 100% right. No one really knows what the purpose is in life. The truth is, we are just a tiny part of our solar system, and there are lots of other solar systems out there, maybe with life in them as well. We and everything around us, are made up of atoms. We just have the ability to use a (minute) part of our brain to realize and ask ourselves why we are really here. The thing is, we weren't put on earth by "god" for a purpose.. we will just reproduce, our families will use up more water and resources, pollute our world and then our family's family will do the same etc, until eventually everything will be so polluted and resources will be so depleted that humanity will die out. And then one day, billions and billions of years from now, the big bang theory will happen all over again, and the atom will be born again, and life will start all over again..

You are so true. Sometimes, I think of stuff like that too. It's cool to see other people thinking the same by themselves and see the similarities.

You will say you are just killing time if you are waiting to die. dying is given. the meaning of life is on how you treat each day of your life.

when you die, that's it. You're not special, you're not getting called for some higher purpose, you're not going to sprout big white wings and go around solving people's problems on some lame tv show, you're not going to become one with the Great & Powerful whatever....

Most people "waste time" so they can run away from death. reverse it somehow. That may be a crazy talk , but Im not embracing it Im trying to beat it. Forget it is inevitable.
