Question on house construction

Anyone here have their house built or do it themselves? I can't find anything local that I like, or that is for sale. So I'm starting to look at having one built possibly. We have a local place that is a reseller for Wardcraft homes which come in and puts the houses together. But I'm wondering if anyone knows if these are poorly made? Really thin walls etc? They say their walls are 2x6 exterior walls and 6" fiberglass insulation. I have no idea about this stuff and these guys have some plans that I really like.

I know this is GFY but I thought just maybe someone would know what I should look for :)

figured I would get a reply like this :) Ya, I can do that. But I know there are some people here on GFY that have done construction etc before so I thought I would ask. Many more that have built their own homes.

I just finished a 2000+ sq addition to my home. 2x6 construction is good. 2x4 has been the standard framing lumber for a long time.
The best way to find a good contractor is by word of mouth. And when you find him,he should be able to arrange tours with customers he has done work for.
