Just got my new laptop in today, ordered it about 18 hours ago.
Here it is:
http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/h... BA&catLevel=4 This computer beats the shit out of a $4000 Dell laptop, in terms of heat, noise, performance, battery, etc. |
how do you figure it beats the shit out of a 4k dell?
|
looks like a rockin laptop
|
How big and heavy is the thing though? Seems like it would be more of a desktop replacement than a laptop.

Because I bought one about 3 months ago. Peice of shit, battery lasts about an hour, thing is too loud to watch tv, and too hot to touch. And once its hot of course it slows EVERYTHING down, takes 10 minutes to get out of the screensaver. |
fuck hp computers.
|

Its not very heavy and I sit on the couch in front of the tv with it all the time. And its much lighter than my Dell Inspiron XPS laptop. |

First thing I woudl do is format the fucker and reload the OS by itself. Get rid of all that fucking HP bullshit software that is on there. Slows the machine down so much. I hate HP computers, I don't know how well their laptops are buiilt but their desktops are 100% shit |
wow... i really adore laptop computers
|
Is the WXGA high definition BrightView one of the "glassy" screens? I see those more and more and they are gorgeous (minus the glare).

Yeah this one looks glassy... looked amazing right out of the box |

Dell's aren't that expensive. I bought a really nice Dell laptop for $2150 almost a year ago. 1.7 Ghz Pentium M chip, (runs almost as fast as a 2.6 Ghz P4), plus good battery life.
|
very nice
|
I've got the same laptop a few months ago. I haven't had a single issue and couldn't be happier. Posting on it now :thumbsup
|

http://reviews.cnet.com/Toshiba_Qosm...-31138488.html
Just bought this a couple weeks ago. Toshiba Qosmio G15. Later this year the G20 comes out. Toshiba won't fucking stop with advanced shit!!! I can't even figure out how to use the fucker it's got so much in it. I can hook up my cable coaxial and watch tv. Monitor rocks! Record DVDs, full multimedia. It's literally a combination computer, tv broadcasting and editing station and radio station. Fucking awesome but the user's manual SUCKS!!! Buyers all over the planet can't figure out how to use the fucking thing! We're all confused! I mean it's probably meant to be user friendly but no way dude. Toshiba's customer support has dropped since I first started buying them but they can't be as bad as Sony! |
Looks nice! You should have fun with it.

Gonna transfer some video to digital tonight and burn my own DVDs. I can literally run my tv/radio station and publishing house off one friggin' computer and it's wi-fi options pull in wi fi from neighbor's houses like half a block away! |
See, this is what I mean. Here is the same issue about the Qosmio's user's manual that I'm talking about. There's a built in one but it ain't the same. This is a quote from a review about the Qosmio:
"5. The learning curve. The big companies that sell computers today are more and more moving away from putting big paper instruction books into the box your new computer comes in, and you will most likely find only a brief setup guidesheet inside the box along with your installation CD and a dozen flyers hawking various promotional items such as the ever-present AOL come-ons. Instead, the instruction manual is found in your in-the-computer software or at a company web site. This (a) saves paper, (b) you have your instruction manual wherever your computer goes, and (c) if the company wants to update your manual it is much easier to update your electronic manual. If you wish, you can, of course, print out the 300-400 pages of the electronic manual. The Qosmio has such an electronic manual, and while it is a good manual as manuals go, even so I wish Toshiba had included a flyer for mail-ordering a bound paperback or hardback instruction manual on the Qosmio. I still learn better if I have a book in front of me while I am tinkering with the computer. And a nice DVD from the company giving you a, say, 2-hour audiovisual tour of the Qosmio?s many, many functions, details, bells, and whistles would surely be a big help. As wonderful as the machine is, there is a LOT to learn- kind of like learning to fly a Boeing 747 actually, and Toshiba could do us all a favor by really using all its computer?s multimedia functions to give the enduser a 21st-century audiovisual learning experience- about the Qosmio and its secrets itself. " By the time we figure out HOW to use this mother fucker it'll be time to BUY a new one. |
Nice 17" screen
Congrats Jack ICQ 154-214-251 |
That's a PIMP Laptop!
