Whats going on in LA for New Years?
 

So here's my Sob story.

Broke up with GF of a year and a half. My 540 is packed with just my clothes and laptop and I'm heading to LA on the 30th. I don't know anyone there, but figure it's the place to be.

Anyone have crash space or any recommendations?

Nah, LA is not the pLAce to be on New Years. The Crips and Bloods have their Annual New Years Shootout and this year the National Convention for both gangs are coincidentally being held here, so it will be a very unsafe place for you to be.

Plus we have an earthquake scheduled (it was all I asked Santa for this year). It would be safer to make up with your g/f.

LA is very uneventful at New Years. Always has been.

Did anyone watch LA new years on Y2K? The hollywood sign had flashy colorful lights shined on it. YEAH!!! FUCKIN ROCK ON!!!!

This town really is a bore.

We only live here for the lovely, friendly, unsarcastic, movie-folk, people.

We've lived in this apartment for 5 years. There are 10 people living in this building, and we all face a small courtyard, so basically we all see into each others living rooms. And in 5 years, one neighbor always addresses my wife Cat, as "Karen" and we don't even know 3 neighbors, and they've lived here for 2 years.

LA is a shit hole, at least the valley is.
