Anyone had your tonsils out as an adult?
My tonsils are out of control, doc says I may need to get them yanked. Have not been able to eat solid hard foods for a week. Good thing is that the lbs. are melting off and my girlie figure is coming back.
|
Nope, but I've hit some before.
|
sig placement.
you and wine talk should have a great disscussion about this |
No, but there are times I wish I had, but then I get over it and that's better than surgery.
|
had mine removed when i was 12. not fun, pretty much lived on icecream for a couple of days. if they say you have to, then of course you have to. but in general i like to avoid surgery as much as possible.

I dont want to scare you, but your better off not being bullshitted. My tonsoles were taken out as a young kid. The older you get, the harder it is on you. When your an adult getting that done, there is a possibility you wont make it off of the operating table because of the amount of blood you loose during the operation. The truth sucks ass at times, but wish ya luck when/if you go in.
|
they say it's very painful. the older you are, the more it hurts
|
Last thing I want is to have them taken out, would only do it if I have no choice.
There is a 1:15,000 chance of death having it done as an adult from what I read. |
I hope thats how those statistics are atleast that, I dont know of them myself, but I figured I would bring that point up just so you knew.

He is right! It's a serious operation when you are an adult. Also, the high amount of blood loss it correct. The healing process is the most painful thing I have ever experinced. When you are a kid its not as serious, as an adult, its a very serious painful operation. |
You may want to ask your doctor about donating some of your own blood beforehand. It's a bloody operation.

My tonsils were removed when I was 15. I thought I was going to die. Coughed up lots of blood clots, pain, miserable damn experience.
My brother had his removed when he was in his mid 30's. The day after he left the hospital, he was eating a bacon sandwich at a company barbeque. Get rid of the things. They may be causing your allergy problems. :( |
had mine out when i was teenager. i must of had a good doctor or something (by the sounds of others storys in this thread lol)
it wasnt really painful, just annoying. i couldnt eat anything and it was hard to drink anything too. my man might have to have his taken out, and hes 30 yrs old. (its causing him to snore louder than a freight train). |
From what I understand, it's a much simpler procedure these days than the one people had 10 or 15 years ago. I believe they more or less burn them out instead of cutting them out now. I read about this somewhere but am by no means a medical authority.
|
I'm thinking I have to get them yanked..I snore like a trooper and my throat hurts like hell the next day.
