If you could change 1 thing that you've done biz wise, what would it be?

I'd definitly have kept a couple sites that I have sold in the past. I was young and dumb, but I've learned and I won't undersell anything Internet related ever again!

What about you? Is there something that you wish that you hadn't done?

CS-Jay 03-21-2005 09:07 PM

Taking a business partner. It's kinda like getting married, but in the end, he tries to fuck you without foreplay.

lloyd 03-21-2005 09:11 PM

started sooner

newbreed 03-21-2005 09:13 PM

We should not have believed all the bullshit that came out of jaYMans mouth when talking to him before we launched Arika's site on our own. Would have saved at least a couple of months on our part and a ton of content.

BVF 03-21-2005 09:22 PM

Listened to all of the SEO babble as soon as I got in the biz in 2000...

But now that I think about it...It seemed a lot more complicated than the actual techniques of basic SEO these days.

Spunky 03-21-2005 09:23 PM

Never got involved with TGP's :(

TheLegacy 03-21-2005 09:27 PM

there are a few people I would never have trusted in friendship that haunts me today

Sly 03-21-2005 09:41 PM

I wish I never would have spent so much time working for other people. A friend of mine always rode my ass about building my own sites and traffic. Once I started, things sure got better.

quiet 03-21-2005 09:43 PM

i always have the same answer. wish i'd scaled my sites and traffic up much earlier than i did. would have made millions more, easily.

BVF 03-21-2005 09:44 PM

I also would have NEVER told my now ex-wife where to find my shit. That alone would have saved me thousands of dollars and a lot of grief.

MuleScrote 03-21-2005 09:45 PM

Contracts...gotta draw up contracts when going into partnerships.

That's all I'm gonna say. Still bitter

JFPdude 03-21-2005 09:46 PM

Would have spent less time helping others get started and done it for myself.

Sosa 03-21-2005 09:46 PM

seo seo seo. did more then galleries when I started.

Tanker 03-21-2005 09:53 PM

Princess Ellisa 03-21-2005 09:53 PM

I would have found out about this industry way sooner than I did. I would like to have had a head start LOL

MyNameIsEmily 03-21-2005 10:42 PM

telling that one guy where to find "Blacks on Blondes" content.

Paul Markham 03-21-2005 11:23 PM

I would of started selling content back in 1996 more than I was.

Missed a great opportunity.

Babagirls 03-21-2005 11:27 PM

i wish i had never left the industry for 2 yrs.
its hard enough re-learning old skills, but it was even harder to learn what i missed out on & get caught up to the present.

I got lucky early and fast so I was fortunate to some degree. My main mistake is hoarding money. If I would have shelled out 75-100 k earlier on certain things I would have had a more diverse portfolio. Overall I cant complain.
Ohh, using I bill.. That was a blunder. But paying out on it was one of the noblest things I've done as a person.
Cheers Buddy,
Duke

I wouldn't change a thing.

uno 03-21-2005 11:56 PM

I probably would have worked more back then and had a team of evil helper monkeys today.

Looking back, I think I change my answer. Every mistake is a stepping stone towards success. Great answer, mate! :thumbsup

baddog 03-22-2005 02:02 AM

I would have gone out on my own earlier

xclusive 03-22-2005 02:05 AM

slapass 03-22-2005 07:51 PM

PHPdude 03-22-2005 09:01 PM
