Anyone know if its possible to have them take you for a ride in a jet? Maybe if I say I want to join the Air Force or something?

There are 'incentive' flights for the enlisted folk.

What about for non enlisted folk? Or those who are interested if it means getting to go up in a jet?

True, but police do ride alongs, I mean, essentially its our tax money that helps pay for that, shouldn't we be able to see that its being put to good use?

hahaha you know damn well its not to see if your tax dollars are being put to good use.. you just want to ride in a jet :)

and i don't blame you..... it would kick ass :thumbsup

i'm going to lie to the Canadian air force... maybe i can get a ride in a hang glider :1orglaugh

Spunky 03-20-2005 08:57 PM

Considering the price of aviation fuel, the pilots time and wear and tear on the jet..it would be too costly

It would be pretty easy for you to hop in a jet or helicopter, find out all sorts of information about both the on-board equipment and the pilots training/strategies, and then run to another country/army sharing details.

Between that, and the money issue...

I just want to ride in a fighter jet, not a classified aircraft.

But yeah, the money issue I guess is an issue, God knows the government hates to waste money. :1orglaugh

same thing dude, everything owned by the military has a certain security 'classification'

liability issue, plus civilians dont have the minimum security clearance anyway

I saw a show on Discovery where you can go up in a russian mig for I think 10,000. Don't quote me though, it's been a while since I've seen the show. It was in the US though, they just had russian migs, unarmed I presume.

alsdesign 03-20-2005 10:37 PM

For 20 grants would some crazy officer from Kamchatka even sell you some older flying Mig (21, 23 or maybe some Suchoj). LMAO. I'm laughing, but it's true. I have heard you can get ANYTHING in Russia.
Another point is how to get it home :)) Guess idea of swimming in Bering sea after being shot down by coast guard is not very comfortable :))

arnette 03-21-2005 03:14 AM

in australia there is a company that takes you up in fighter planes, its not the air force though. i also know that you can do it (and just about anything else army related) in russia.

OzMan 03-21-2005 03:26 AM

I've seen a fighter jet at North Las Vegas airport that offers rides, I am looking for the website as I would like to try also
