I grew up near the beach in Hawaii. It's mostly nice, however rust treat your car and understand that the salt air will affect your electronics products as well.

On the west coast it means lots and lots of Democrats! If you're "blue" we welcome you to move out to Cali with us. If you're "red" move to Florida... You'll fit right in! :)

Usually it just means you pay more for everything. From gas to taxes to housing costs. A half million dollar home in a southern california coastal town is truely a shack. Maybe 1000sqft tops. Or a "middle of the road" condo.

sucks after awhile
i am lookin to move

theking 03-20-2005 05:37 PM

It is great.

Greg Jacobson 03-20-2005 08:04 PM

Lots and lots of bumbs. The city of Santa Monica loves bumbs. They give them food, sleeping bags, clothing, etc.

Good place to move if you don't want to work for a living.

PHPdude 03-20-2005 08:06 PM

man i wish i could afford a beachhouse os something

Its Fucking Great

But it gets crowded at weekends with all the tourist parking. I get about 25% of my models every month while walking on the beach. Its slow at this time of year but come April they will be back walking running, or just laying around catching a few rays. Its a hard life but someone has to do it ?

.

pornguy 03-20-2005 08:14 PM

It has things about it that you will love, and some that you will hate. I am two blocks from the beach, with a view of the ocean from my home office. And the rust is amazing.

DateDoc 03-20-2005 08:16 PM

It'd be hard not to live near the water. I just moved from FL to CA. In FL I was a mile form the coast. Loved it. Here I am about 30 mins from Santa Cruz but I can always go to the parents and sit on their patio which looks over the Pacific. In FL you can get a nice house near (within a mile) of the ocean for about 500K in CA it would be a million at least. There is nothing like sitting on the beach and watching the sun rise or set. Get packing and do it.

jscott 03-20-2005 08:26 PM

i used to love it, only shitty thing is the fucking sand gets all up in your car (really bad) and in the engine too..........but the beaches are great, florida/cali the weather is usually really good too

also what i loved was normally the beach areas tend to attract tourists so the bitches come in town ready to party ;)

VERY true. Everything in my place gets destroyed quickly.

The Heron 03-20-2005 09:53 PM

I grew up on the shore of Lake Huron in Michigan, I can tell you that is the greatest place to live. At least in michigan you have certain quirks to living by water that you get used to real fast (more spiders usually, 4 seasons, water levels fluctuate over the years, etc)
Having a private beach that you can walk out to each day is the coolest thing, I've never had to deal with crowded public beaches!
I don't know crap about salt water though haha.

Furious_Female 03-20-2005 11:32 PM

Oooooooh what a beautiful rainbow!!
