House to meet in special session re: Terry Schiavo
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Members of Congress said Saturday that they have agreed on a compromise, bipartisan bill aimed at saving the life of Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged woman whose feeding tube was disconnected Friday by order of a Florida court.
Now if I understand the general story, Mr. Schiavo claims that Terri requested long ago that she be taken off of life support should she one day find herself in her current situation. Is the House meeting in an effort to quash an individual's freedom? Big government, please stay out of MY life. I guess I have to agree with Republicans on ONE issue. |
what a bullshit

Didnt she get this way in the first place because she tried to starve herself?
how ironic |

She was starving herself by bulimia
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,148756,00.html "What happened, Greta, as best we know, is that Terri had a condition known as bulimia (search). It's an eating disorder. She'd had it for many years. She grew up as a chubby, overweight child, and over time, she coped with that condition by developing this eating disorder, bulimia. One night, Michael and Terri had had dinner. And she had had a large meal, and not long after the meal, he heard a thumping sound in the couple's bathroom, went to investigate, found Terri lying on the floor of the bathroom. She had just purged, apparently, or vomited, binged, which is what bulimics do and had a heart attack. And by the time that fire rescue arrived at the Schiavo home, why, she had suffered severe brain damage." |
Poor woman either way but it is a little bit ironic but there is no need to spend tax dollars on this
