Best Video camera?

Do you think the new Sony HDR-FX1 HDV is better than the Canon XL2? I looking to buy a camera soon and I'm not sure if I should go with the Canon or the Sony. Or any other video cameras out there worthwhile

Canon XL2

The Canon is the camera you want hands down. email me and I'll help you with all the details specs and tricks you could ever want to know. You can have productions that make most of the video out there look like amateur junk. I'm not a Canon dealer but I've used their products to the greatest advantage for a very long time. I'd enjoy telling you about the XL2. Good Luck, hope to hear from you soon. [email protected]

Unless you plan to be shooting exclusively in a studio with perfect lighting HD is not the way to go.

The Sony DCR-VX2100 Rocks for real world shoots. :thumbsup

Shooting HD

I'm wondering why HD needs to be shot in a studio only. I have used HD on location without any problem. Sometimes technique just needs to be tweaked and other times it can be the camera. But an HD camera should perform up to it's specs regardless. There are variances camera to camera sometimes to the point of an actual defect, no manufacturer is immune to this problem but then again if it is indeed a problem with the camera it needs to be addressed. I'm happy to help anyone with any technical questions regarding video production. I'd like to see the production values of the video increase without increasing costs. Many times we have camera's that are used to far below their capabilities and we are operating them far below ours. It's like a win-win scenario whenever the final product improves.

DIH.. I'm shooting the same type of reality video similiar to what TTBoy does. His dvd's are quality shoots, so if the Sony DCR works for him , it will work for me... Thanks for the info... :)

I have the gl2, the xl2, the vx2100 and the HDR-FX1...

By far... the Vx2100 is best for low lighting...

But I just love the HDR-FX1---- it rocks

And gets me so much attention while shooting in public,
