Microsoft as predicted
Almost 2 years ago I predicted Microsoft will move into the Entertainment system of homes turning your Television into a PC.
http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/top/sto...,84815,00.html The time is now. Also some beffy text in there about the MS Search PPC Engine. Excellent stuff:) Looks like they are ging to call it AD Center. Now Imagine watching television while surfing the net at the same time seeing ad's and commercial's based on what your watching. Perhaps even Commercial's based on your past Quaries and purchases! |
People have been doing this for years, it's not exactly hard to hook up a pc with a tv-tuner, wireless mouse/keyboard, and nice video card to a hdtv. Or am I missing something?

Windows Media Center Edition has been coded to make the convergence seamless and manageable. |
It's going to really suck when they ruin television.

I've seen and worked with a couple of the TV / Internet platforms, including the MSN one. I think they all suck and are nothing more than what WebTV was - complete shit. The user interface is as prehistoric and fumbly as cellphone menuing systems. However, AOL continues to have customers, so my techy opinion means nothing since there's obviously an audience for it.

WEBTV was an operating system? I swear some of you people are dense as Talent hooked on crack... I almost regret trying to be informative... http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/m...t/default.mspx |
I am very curious to see with giants such as Microsoft and others co-mingling TV with networking and on demand style programing, with the growing use of such devices as Tivo and the ability to bypass commercials. Will product placement and the ability to pause converge to where you can click a remote button, get full product info on anything you see on screen and order it right from your TV?

I kinda compare this to the way XTV is doing...Its a very interesting platform that I am looking forward to seeing advancing...

If everyone blew up their TV this world would be a better place. Ok, wait until March Madness is over, then take a sledgehammer to it. |
