i think it's cause they don't want any sober people throwing betting any other thoughts?

cause when u 21.. u can drink.. and they love drunk gamblers... any gambler thats sober when gambler is a waste of time.. :P

Casino Gambling is 21 only at establishments that serve alchol. Places like Vegas it is 21 as well.

Dog Tracks, Horse Tracks, Indian Casinos, sportsbooks, state lottery all have an age 18 law to em.

when I was marketing assistant of Multnomah Greyhound Park (how I really got the name "boneprone") my main point I really drve hard to the marketing deparment brain stormers was market the kid, market the kid, market the kid.

Our revenue was crashing the years before do to the influx of State Ran Video Poker in Bars here in Oregon. The gambling junkies were getting their fix on the very potent form of video poker. The greyhound park's highest rollers were droping 2 dimes a day in these fucking machines rather then coming to the park. Every ganbler was hooked. There was no way getting em back.

I looked out at the park one day and said FUCK! We aint gunna make it! All I saw were senior citzen people betting on our dogs!

The gamblers and rollers were gone! We had lost em to Video poker! Open all day long 7 days a weeks, how could we compete with being open only 4 days a week for 3.5 hours?

We couldnt. We were sinking fast!

So I got dirty. Real dirty.
I followed the marketing tactic of our big brothers in Big Tabacco.

I market to kids. 18 year olds to 21. College kids. Kids who have no idea as to what the power of gambling addiciton are. And kids with lots of mom and daddy's $$, and student aid, and Work Study $$.

These kids had no expenseses! Lived at home. They needed a hobby!

College Bikini Night at MGP was the thing!
Marketing to Portalnd State Uniersity, and evey comunitty college and on Top 100 pop radio stations was the key.

And it kept us afloat!

yeah I know eros. I said places like vegas you have to be 21 also. I should have said Nevada.

After marketing they moved me to the floor as floor supervisior.
Naturally you dont wanna put a junkie like myself on the floor. But they did.
2 months later I was fired. Fired and licence from the state racing comission yanked. I had been gambling in the back. High fucking stakes. I knew the dogs, the owners, the trainers everyone. Its against the law for a employee and licenced gamining-racing commision person to gamble yet I did.

Soo much that they accused me of maniuplating odds, embezlement since I never gambled my own $$, I used house $$. I would print out 1500.00 tickets on the dogs, and use thier $$. At the end of the night id calculate out how much I owed em. I had a system.

Fuck I shouldnt be talking about this.

i think boneprone is right.. upstate newyork casino lets ya gamble at age 18.. if not 19..

What I like about gambling is that when I'm playing, no one cards me for free drinks.

I am from MD too. I have been to AC many times and have only seen them card people once. It was very late at night and the Casinos were empty.

If you are going to the convention - keep the badge around your neck or wherever. Walk in with friends (that hopefully look older) and I would be willing to bet you will have no problems. Play Poker. You won't lose any real money and that is more of an "adult game". It is almost impossible to lose a lot of money playing at those games at the lower limits with only the most basic of strategy (which I can teach you in about 20 minutes - if you don't know). I have tracked over 800 sessions at the lower levels and the most someone lost in four hours was $186.

Casinos don't want to hear from your parents about you losing money and they broke the law -yada yada yada.

Stay away from Video Poker, Craps, Sports, Roulette, Blackjack. I think they would watch these more closely. I could be wrong, but I think this would be the case.

I'd be happy to play poker with ya. Poker to me is so much more fun. It gives me a much bigger rush.

Remember poker is the only game BESIDES horse racing - were you are NOT playing against the casino. The casino gets a cut out of the pot. They don't care if you win or lose. If you win $100 - they still make money. That isn't true at almost any other game.
