Broadcast.com $16 mill in losses, sales of $22 mill, sold to Yahoo for 5.7 Billion
Why exactly did they pay 5.7 billion?
They must know something we dont......
To move money/assets and hide them :thumbsup
almost 6bil? interesting
and when you type in broadcast.com you get yahoo.com. That is a hell of a price to pay for a domain to forward it.
i think they bought technology that they use now for movies/videos all over their site, and i'm sure they get other perks we don't know about.
Was not bought cash.. it was a stock purchase... ;)
Regardless, Yahoo is still alive and going strong. It may have been overvalued but it hardly killed them.
Billion?
You mean million? Do you have a link? |
the value of a good domain ;)

Marc Cuban sure sold at the right time. Out of the .com era, nobody ended up with more $ than him.

Marc used to be my roommate in '96-97. He created AudioNet before it became Broadcast.com. He hit the .com market right at primetime. Marc has always been a successful business man, even before this, the Yahoo buy PLUS stock was just the result of a genius business man. Yahoo had no idea the burst to come and they didn't translate well what he built nor anticipated the amount of competition on their heels. And yes, it was 'billions' not millions fyi on top of it all, he's a really nice guy! :thumbsup |
