Gasoline in Malibu, California at one particular Union 76 station is selling for $3.05 per gallon for regular unleaded, self service. Full service, $3.38 a gallon.

We may just catch up with the European price by summer of 2006! :1orglaugh
Although those who live in Malibu can afford to pay that much since they pay 20 million bucks for a small beach front home.
