Have you ever met someone you knew online for a long time, and it was very awkward?
 

I haven't, but I can imagine what it'd be like meeting a few people I've known online for years.

When you meet them in RL they aren't the same as they are on the internet..

I've made a couple of friends online who then became friends off line but usually you find they're not the same in RL. I guess when you know someone online you get a picture in your head of what they're like and what are the chances they'll really fit that bill when you meet them? Slim and slimmer.

Well, everyone industry related that I've met in person has been really cool. I've met a few chat buddies in person that have turned out to be totally different in person. Like they were really cool online but totally shy and realy quiet in person. You spend too much time in chat room and you forget how to communicate in real life. :(

I have a particular member thats been around for over 5 years now. He's in chat almost clockwork and we know each other so well now that we can even finish each others sentences. Awesome Awesome guy. Well, finally I invited him to visit for a few days and it was wierd for both of us. He said even though he's seen me almost every day on cam online I looked nothing like myself in person (most people say I look better in person... prettier and more "real"... awwww how sweet *smile*). I have seen pictures of him before but he looked nothing like himself either. The personality on both our parts was not as outgoing and didn't feel as close to him in person. But when he got home and we were back online it was a little different for us both. But as time went on we got back to normal. Wasn't bad at all in person... just not the same. Good but different. He plans to make another visit in April. I think this time we'll both be a little more relaxed. I sure had fun curled up on the couch with comfy covers and munchin on popcorn while watchin movies and also going to the beach though... had a great visit.
