Another adult cc processor bites the dust

SWREG.org has been a tremendous "secret" adult processor for years, keeping a low profile and not advertising it. Even though their web site said they didn't process adult, the owner routinely gave you permission if you emailed him.

For years they have processed my dvd store and backup subscription processor, never missing a beat and able to process many countries ccbill won't touch.

Sadly they were just bought by Digital River and I got this when I logged in:

Adult category sales now to be restricted..
Please note that Adult materials have always been prohibited under our trading terms at http://swreg.org/pages/author_agreement.html but perhaps not rigidly enforced.

As such materials cause us problems with our trading partner Paypal, as well as other major vendors on our system who prefer not to be associated with such materials, we must insist now that all such materials are withdrawn within the next 7 days after which such stores will be closed.

<sigh>

The 750 has nothing to do with it. I use CCbill, but CCbill does not process tangible goods like dvds, that is what people use swreg for - shopping carts. The fact that you could use them to process subscriptions in places like the middle east that ccbill won't touch - was just a little extra gravy.

In this industry you have to plan your business based on anything changing without much notice. You'd be a fool to plan anything long term. Nothing lasts forever.

Better words cannot be typed. I think this KRL guy also said "don't keep all your eggs in one basket", too. But what the fuck does he know. :1orglaugh

Thanks for the informative reply. That is why I have so many backup processors; I was just noting that yet another company chooses not to process adult.

That Sucks...sounds like at very least you had a good thing going with the middle east sales :2 cents:

Yeah, I am going to miss that. I was getting sales that ccbill won't touch - Asia, Eastern Europe, middle east (Israel, Saudi Arabia, etc.) I have a merchant account but no way I'm taking the risk for that shit in my name.

Funny thing though is no chargebacks or fraud from those countries.
