Why do so many people in this industry have fucked up.....

...Fax machines?

I've tried sending 17 faxes over the last week or so and only 4 of them went through.

Strangely enough, The 4 that went through were all Canadian companies and the other 13 we US.

Go figure.

pornguy 03-17-2005 11:12 PM

Aaron. Man am I glad to see that you are over your heart attack, and cured of being dead.

And I know the feeling about the fax. Wait until you have to try to fax to mexico.

tony286 03-17-2005 11:12 PM

I agree I hate fax machines and usually the people that want you to use them you have to fax 15 pages too

boner 2.0 03-17-2005 11:13 PM

Blame canada! :P

Sometime the ring tone fuck up... but 13 times in a row? hmm :1orglaugh

I might expect that in Mexico but not one single US company that I attempted to fax to this last week has had a decent fax machine or connection.

And I'm not talking about somebody running a business out of a shed in their back yard. Very large and successful companies for the most part.

Paul Markham 03-17-2005 11:15 PM

13 is a problem

Oh no...13 DIFFERENT companies. At least 2 attempt per company.

newbreed 03-17-2005 11:18 PM

Same problem here, usually it's the processors who have the fucked up machines.

NaughtyRob 03-17-2005 11:19 PM

I had a problem with CCBill a few months back but they gave me a secondary fax line to try and that worked out fine.

Cool. Do you have a backup line for Epoch?

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 03-17-2005 11:22 PM

Nothing but the fax, ma'am

Fax machines. How quaint. I thought people nowadays just scanned stuff and attached it to e-mail.

Seriously, what do you use fax machines for?

Who runs that?

Love Brokers 03-17-2005 11:54 PM

Business associate told this company to stop FAXing him, take him off their list. They didn't and kept sending. So he looped the paper, "take me off your fax list!" and began the send mode after the company had closed for the night. :321GFY Next morning the receiver's machine was out of paper and they had about two hundred feed of message on their floor, "take me off your fax list.!"

They called him, apologised and immediately removed him from their list! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh Point was made.

Ah, nevermind then. I saw one of his techs once, they put on a dunce show for us on a show floor, never looked back at anything he is involved in.

Faxing - yet another way to get spammed in a day! It's really amazing. At least with junk email it doesn't use up my paper!

I've learned to love e-faxes - clean, neat and quiet!

Don't feel bad, I tried to fax papers to my attorney (this is a law firm in a penthouse, not just any guy who just graduated from college), and their fax machine did work. So I called their secretary who told me that until the afternoon it wouldn't work (waitingon the tech). So she gave me the number to their other office.
I faxed the papers there, and same story!
The freaking fax didn't work there either.
WTF? Is $39 for a backup fax machine to much too ask, from an attorney who is charging my wife 7K to fix some paperwork?

WiredGuy 03-18-2005 12:20 AM

I often leave my fax unplugged because of the sheer volume of the fax spam I get. If someone really needs to get something to me, they'll call me first. If its unsolicited, chances are I don't want their fax...

Faxes are so 80`s.

webcrawler 03-18-2005 02:14 AM

I used fax machines a couple of times, and i really hate it.

European Lee 03-18-2005 02:14 AM

Sorry to hear of your non-fatal heart attack Aaron.

Better luck next time :thumbsup

fudpuck 03-18-2005 02:25 AM

I know it's hard for people to believe that their fax machine is not working correctly. In one office I was at, our fax needed a BIOS update...and it took 2 months of not getting faxes for anybody to take me seriously when I said our fax wasn't receiving.

13 faxes fucking up? Ever think maybe it's your fax machine that's broken?

Ah.....I guess that would explain why it works internationally and not locally. :thumbsup

Yes, I considered that. So I actually took it in and exchanged it since it was a fairly new machine.

Same results.

Even tried using it on a different phone line instead of Vonage.

Same thing.

Yet...again....The Vonage line faxing to Canada worked just fine.

I'm gonna have to chalk it up to Canadians being smarter than the average American.
