Nice. My cat used to love foil balls. I'd throw it for her and she'd go get it but she wouldn't bring it back to me. She'd look for a shoe and drop in in. It was completely bizarre behavior but she's outgrown it now. If I throw a foil ball today, she watches it roll across the floor and looks at me like I'm an idiot.

MikeSmoke 03-17-2005 10:04 PM

cool vid.
when mine was younger (much younger lol) i'd stand at the bottom of the stairs and he would go to the top of the stairs - i'd toss a ball or a toy up in the air over his head - he'd leap in the air, snag it, put it down on the ground, and then knock it down the stairs to me so i could throw it to him again.
he's unusually bright though, i think - he also figured out how he could escape to the outside, when he was alone in the room he started unthreading the screen window from its frame, piece by piece, like a prisoner chipping away at the cell doors - he was really pissed when I discovered him before enough of the screen had been unthreaded to let him out. so then he started begging to play in the basement - it turned out that he'd found a window in the basement that wasn't locked, and that he could wedge through it to get out; after a few hours he'd come back inside and bang at the basement door to come upstairs. it took me almost a year to accidentally "bump into him" outside and his game was up :error
he's almost 17 now, so these days he'd rather just sleep :1orglaugh

The look on the kitty's face when you ran into him outside must have been priceless! :1orglaugh

thanks :)
it was definitely priceless - imagine the look on a kid's face if his parents walked in and caught him undressing his gf - and you'll get the idea :winkwink:

he's still a hell-raiser when he has the energy - a couple of years ago when i was living in an apartment complex (and he was almost 15), he apparently plotted for months where he could hide (around a corner), and one night he dashed out the balcony door when i opened it for a second to come inside - in the dark, with my arms full, i didn't even see him go out. the end of the story is -- he jumped off the balcony (three stories to the ground) and spent hours exploring. 3-4 hours later, i finally found him, and could only entice him out of his hiding spot behind a fence, by bringing his food outside at 2 in the morning.
i didn't get over my panic for days, but he had a great night :1orglaugh

Cats are pretty damn smart for an animal..

Holly 03-18-2005 12:18 AM

I rescued a half dead kitten from a cage in a yucky pet shop the first day I moved off to college. After she grew up, she would do the same thing- anything you threw she'd bring it right back and drop it at your feet and then just stare up at you until you threw it again. If we went on a walk or jogging she would follow right behind us, just like a dog. No matter how far we went.

Manowar 03-18-2005 12:22 AM

heh awesome.

wargames 03-18-2005 01:25 AM

Cats are cool. :thumbsup!

Rich 03-18-2005 02:38 AM

haha, nice. My cat will do that all day long. I was pretty surprised when it started bringing the ball back to me, I didn't know cats could play fetch.

DutchTeenCash 03-18-2005 02:54 AM

cool my siamese used to do that as well :)

reynold 03-18-2005 03:38 AM

I hope you don't bath your cat, because that's absolutely not necessary. Please stop believing commercials and save your cat the hassle

:disgust

Homer 03-18-2005 05:27 AM

Playful Me 03-18-2005 08:00 AM

I adopted PIG from Vic off of GFY last year - he was soo cute -fit in the palm of my hand. Now he's huge. Got his balls cut off last week - two little cuts, pop snip, pop snip.

PIG thinks he's a do - he comes when you call him, sits, stays and fetches not to mention he has my daughter trained to run and pick him up when he meows.

He also has an issue with constantly getting in the shower with me.

I want to be cat in my next life

MEOW!

Kicker 03-18-2005 09:19 AM

that's nice:)))

Sparks 03-18-2005 10:33 AM

Ahaha, nice video. Never thought a cat would do that.

lolol...mine doesn't actually want to get in, he just stays outside and stares, trying to figure out exactly how the shower works. that apparently was next on his list of projects - he spent ten years trying to figure out how the toilet works, every time i would flush it, he would run in and leap up onto the rim to stare at the water going down, trying to figure out where it went. he apparently finally figured it out, since about a year ago he stopped showing any interest --- and moved on to figuring out the shower :1orglaugh
