What an ugly website! You'd think they could have something decent for all of their billions.

Nismo 03-17-2005 05:09 PM

They should throw up a TGP and make another billion.

Yes it is an ugly website.

But I don't think good old Warren really cares. It's a guy who made his money conservatively. Bells and whistles aren't his thing.

buying 1 share of their stock would make 99% of the ppl here broke.

I maybe St Paddys days pissed but I like it how he recommends people buy stock in the Car Insurance side is his company while silently telling them to also buy insurance!

I bet one share of BRK-B at $2800 or so would break most of the people around here, much less the $88,000 for BRK-A... :1orglaugh

pornguy 03-17-2005 06:17 PM

I think that a lot of companies have lost what realy needs to be on the sites, for the flashy photos and bells.

Steen2 03-17-2005 06:19 PM

Is there a reason their stock's worth $88k? Why hasn't it split a thousand times over?

Warren Buffett doesnt over pay on dividends to temporarily increase the stock price. He also runs a fund how it should be which is looking at long term investment with a 'hands off' approach.

Warren believes and is likely right, that spliting stock only makes it easier to trade, which is not a sound formula for longterm investing...

He believes in buy and hold which if your going to do why does it matter if it's 1 share $88,000 or 8800 at $10 each... :upsidedow

Pretty disturbing when even Warren Buffett is betting against the dollar.

Yep, it is disturbing this structural hole the US is getting into. Some economists say it looks and smells like the early 70's fiscal debacle under Nixon. The smart money will definitely play against the dollar for some time soon. Disturbing and sad...
