Hosted By Sugar Ray Leonard and Sylvester Stalone who is on Jimmy kimmel tonight by the way :winkwink: I thought this show was going to be super lame but it is some of the best boxing I have ever seen. They have the top middle weight champions from all over the world and they are beating the fuck out of eachother. It's way more exciting then a Tyson fight and the closest thing you will ever see to a real life Rocky movie. This is must see tv :thumbsup

I seen Stalone on Conan O'Brian a few nights ago about this..

I watched it last week and I loved it. The next one is tonight and I can't wait to watch it.

It's the shit, I predict it will be the highest rated show on tv in the new few months :thumbsup

I've watched The Contender and I think it sucks.

As TV, it's so-so overly contrived reality pablum.

Where it really sucks is in the boxing department. Seeing only 20 seconds to a minute of each 3-minute round is not boxing if you are a real boxing fan.

The show is on for an hour and they show maybe five minutes at most of boxing. Since the 5 round bouts would only last 15 minutes tops anyway, why not show the whole bout and cut out some of the boring parts and crappy sentimental stuff?

To really understand the ebb and flow of a fight, you need to see it in it's entirety. Not just selected clips.

Most fights show highlights in between rounds and have a post fight recap showing key moments in a fight, but the Contender is nothing but highlights, with no complete rounds shown.

I would rather watch a local golden gloves tournament with amateur boxers then Contender style edited fights.
