Fuck My Psx2!!!! Fuck It To Hell

I have had this thing since playstation 2 came out. I have had to get the lens cleaned 4 times already in 3 or 4 years. ITS NOT READING MY GAME. I have tried running hot water on the cd cuz it takes scratches out at times. But nada. ESPN NCAA 2k5 is what im playing...I have to bring it back tomorrow.

sickkittens 03-16-2005 10:13 PM

Why not just buy a new one?

DavieVegas 03-16-2005 10:16 PM

I knew someone would ask me that. I just dont play it that much, so the 3rd one should be coming out soon and Id rather buy that then a new one.

nofx 03-16-2005 10:17 PM

where do you take it to get the lens cleaned ?

mine JUST did this a few weeks ago

I can still play dvd's on it but not my ps2 game, it fucking sucks.

Steve 03-16-2005 10:17 PM

calm down Mr. Garrison

I have a first gen ps2 and haven't got disk read errors at all. Sometimes if you mess with the levels etc it will put the laser back in place where it should be. I have read about that on some sites.

BTW, do you play online much with ESPN NCAA?

don't stand then vertically. Sony won't admit it but they perform better when they are used horizontally. I used to work at EA.

Ya mine does the same for dvd's as it does for games. I took it to a local place that sells games.

Sosa 03-16-2005 10:24 PM

if you open the tray etc you can see some white gears. google up the ps2 disk read error fix

dready 03-16-2005 10:27 PM

Dude, you realize that all CD/DVD readers have a life span of 4 years right? PS2 is like almost free these days aren't they?

i got a 1st gen ps2. still works like a charm.

IRQ0 03-17-2005 12:39 AM

Semi-related topic, PS2 repairs. I am a field engineer and do surface mount repairs, write code etc every day....

I had my PS2 power supply blow up recently. If you want to knwo how to fix it let me know (email me subject IRQ0).

As for cleaning, where are you taking it and what are you, or they, using? Cleaning of the lens, a big problem is very easy to do. There is abig difference between using a cleaning disk and actually cleaning the lens. However, a laser that will not read may be the sign of a weak laser.

reynold 03-17-2005 12:50 AM

That sucks.

DavieVegas 03-17-2005 12:52 AM

I still cant get it to work...i give up

spideriux 03-17-2005 05:10 PM

give it to me for free :)
