The IRS wanted to see if its workers were easily prone to hackers so they had fake techs call and ask for their login info and told them to change to a new password they gave them. Read the results. :(

Can you imagine the damage a hacker could do if they got into the IRS network.

Jesus that could cripple the whole country financially overnight. What kind of idiots would give out their logon over the phone to anyone they don't know. I just can't believe people are that stupid.

Seriously, I can imagine and it could be disastrous.

But that's nothing new. Social engineering has been around for years and no matter how sophisticated the system is, there's always a human being behind it and that's what creates the flaws.
