They have not anounced yet. Companies wait till they are ready to ship to give final pricing because they are waiting to see what Panasonic is going to come to market with.

The Sony Z1u goes for $4,800 so it should not be more than $7,ooo I think. I have th Z1U and it is great but I prefer progressive cameras.

How long till this is the standard for shooting porn ? I think it wont be too long

Most porn companies won't use the JVC. They will be using the Sony. Most porn camera guys don't use (or know how to) manual settings or pro audio so the Sony FX1 is the best choice for them. Most of them are still using the VX2000/2100.

My cousin purchased the JVC HD-1...poor guy. DVX-100A is still where I'd sink my money. There is a 24p HD cam coming from Panasonic later this year. Supposed to be under 10k. Not bad when compared to the Sony (What george lucas shot Star Wars with) which is way up in the 100k range i think.

Alot of folks hate JVC in adult, they won't use em.

However I goto differ, I think JVC has turned out some grat camera's in last couple years. I have JVC GR HD1 and its one of the most versatile Cams I have ever had.

It performs awesome and is nice and compact.

HD, SD And standard DV.

HD and SD mode is 16x9 and the real flip about this Cam is that it has an on board Digital Still Camara.

Its a swiss army knife.

i figured that much.

It took my cousin a couple of months before he finally shot in HD. He bought the camera when it first came out and we couldn't figure out how to pull the HD video. It wasn't until he bought Premiere Pro that we were finally able to edit HD.

The Cineform software works fairly well.

EHhe the trick is having a 1394 Port on the PC, some motherboards do not have one and ya can get pretty screwed if ya buy the wrong type of motherboard that does not have a 1394 Port.

DO not confuse Wide Firewire with 1394:)

HEhe Yeah the Premiere Pluggin is expensive, I went with Ulead the pluggin was much cheaper and the results came out just fine:)

I'd hit it and bring it back home for 2nds.
