How did your ad campaign go on Porno.com ..?
Seems like they will not accept advertising anymore.. I was wondering how it went for you..?

Porno.com made way more money on the PPC panel. So after this campaign ends its going back on that until it's re-designed for a PPC link style site and then re-released after the sister sites are built up for traffic so there will be sufficiently large traffic for the advertisers to do better.
Most guys were able to pull 2,000 to 3,000 clicks a day. I had it calculated that they would do around 1:400 conversions and would make a profit. The conversions didn't hit that number for everyone. The sites up next will be Slut.com, Virgins.com, Voyeur.com and TeenPussy.com. So in answer to your question, most did not hit there numbers. KRL |

KRL, like I mentioned on your board a while ago, I'd skip those early phases and continuously work on converting it to the Porno Clearinghouse it can become. While most of the times I agree with the notion of `releasing something`, I don't think this should be the case with your prime domains. Just do it and get it over with already :)
Cash flow is nice, but here much more money is left on the table. For starters, I think that the site presents the user with too much randomness. The user has no clue what's going to happen when they click on something (it might be a pic gallery, or a movie one, or a pills site, or just a paysite, or a popup attack from the site that opens up, a product of some kind..). You can never feel `at home` there. I'm sure you know all this. Start a thread on your board and we'll discuss this some more if you want. :thumbsup |
The original concept was for the advertisers to build out their channel sections. I even told them they could resell ad space on their sections if they wanted to.
So that when a surfer clicked the Teen Channel they went to a whole section all themed with Teen links, pics, movies, etc. I figured the original cost at only $3500 a channel which worked out to about $115 a day ad cost. I figured with 2,000 to 3,000 uniques to each of the channels they'd be good for 3 to 5 signups minimum if they did the full page layout like I suggested. Everyone got there traffic. Nobody did that. I guess they figured just a tour would do and no work involved. So hey you win some you lose some. I've certainly had ad campaigns that bombed in my many years. Anyway, I'm going to bring out another 4. I did a PPC test on porno.com about a month ago and did'nt even pull in more than 1 free email signup. (which did'nt convert btw).
