Curious did you upgrade?.I kept getting errors that it was already in use..wasted a hour trying to figure out how to change it..it was pretty good but it had it's issues

Mike Okitch 03-15-2005 10:11 PM

Too late for IE. Firefox rules and I'm going to stick to it.

On another topic, mal, awesome sig :)

Upgrade Firefox. I don't think I did. Using version 1.0 is there an upgrade?

32bit png = 4 channels of 8bit

1 red, 1 blue, 1 green, 1 transparency

So you can create images that have varying degrees of transparency and put them on your webpages with them looking sane. Right now, most browsers only support transparency 100% or 0% (opaque) like in .gif.

So IS there an issue when upgrading? Should I stick with 1.0?

I'm doing good. How's everything going with you? I'm invisible on ICQ if you want to hit me up.

I loaded the upgrade to my wifes pc, and not the screen on FF jumps. I need to take the time to go to the site and ask them about it.

Firefox works great for me. :thumbsup

TheJimmy 03-15-2005 11:35 PM

I'm a verrry old netscape fan, turned mozilla fan...not going to change anytime soon, only reason I started looking through IE is when I actually made pages and gave a shit personally about what surfers looked at....still that is my only concern on occasion...

Aquarius 03-15-2005 11:36 PM

IE, mmm.... no thanks

I used firefox for a while. then all of a sudden it started crashing. It would crash about ever 5-10 minutes. I searched thier board and tried some of the things that they suggested and none of them worked. So I removed and reinstalled and still had the same problem. Ran all the spyware problems, don't have a virus the damn thing just crashes and was driving me nuts. So I switched back to IE.

I ran into that problem once.

I opened up my task manager and found it still running in the background.

So i killed it and rebooted my pc and never had that problem again.

sean416 03-16-2005 01:02 AM

pop ups, awaware, viruses, all of that and I still just cant get used to firefox. :\

adonthenet 03-16-2005 01:04 AM

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-16-2005 01:05 AM

I am looking forward to the release of IE7.

The PNG's are going to be awesome openning a whole new avenue to web design.
If your a designer I encourage ya to get your chops up on this event.

twan 03-16-2005 01:09 AM

I'm using firefox, no need to switch. Firefox has nice extensions :thumbsup

bdld 03-16-2005 01:22 AM

pretty neat, i may just have to switch back to IE when this comes out.

More Booze 03-16-2005 03:14 AM

Its no surprise, they had to add tabbed browsing...

PKP 03-16-2005 01:21 PM

Opera is fast. Older versions like Opera 6 are the fastest things you will see.

I just find Opera useful for when you really need that extra speed. A web forum might load twice to three times as fast in Opera 6 on a Cable connection. But something like a Bank or javascript filled page won't work in it if it has all sorts of awkward scripts. Opera 7-8 work well with javascript, probably as good as firefox. Opera 7-8 a bit slower than opera 6 in many ways, but still faster than IE and Firefox by a good shot. Firefox ate more CPU power up on my computer than IE. I tested it with a resource meter/CPU meter. It feels like it was programmed in Javascript or something. So much CPU.

Manowar 03-16-2005 01:22 PM

i'll still use firefox

And Altavista the #1 search engine? :2 cents: :2 cents:

Antonio 03-16-2005 01:59 PM

And the first comment on that page is:

Though for real security, you'll have to wait for IE10, code named "Urysses".

yep. opera rules. only thing i hate are websites which demand for ie, telling me my browser is to old and i should get a state-of-the-art microsoft product. if i switch my browser-info into "msie 6.0" those pages will load flawlessly

loverboy 03-16-2005 02:49 PM

no way, Firefox all the way!

Furious_Female 03-16-2005 03:48 PM
