Well this is coming from me. I have no real experience as a photoeditor so I say listen to me with a grain of salt :)
I just bought 3 new sony 19 inch lcd's and set them up. Immediatley gfy and other sites looked better than my prevoius lcd. I could see the gfy logos in the background much clearer. As soon as I ran the spyder software and calibration tool some of the websites looked worse. More blurry is what I would describe them as.
However the results with the calibration in photoshop were amazing. When you are done using the calibartion tool they have a picture that is on your desktop. Below the picture are two buttons, before and after. You can click on them and they bring up the above said picture in before (present status) and after (amazing difference) So all in all the goal is to have it work better in the later way, but it sucks when you feel that frequently visited sites look worse. It could be that my eyes are playing tricks on me however. Who knows. Thats my take on it.
