feeling helpless for my pregnant gf

she's in quite a lot of pain tonight. Sore hip, very sore back, aches and pains everywhere and of course, the mandatory sore tummy.

There's nothing I can do http://www.sponsorslist.com/smilies/sadfuck2.gif

Yes there is, you can pamper her and give her a massage.

pampered her, hot tub and put creams and stuff on her, but a massage doesn't help at this point. She doesn't want anyone touching her where it hurts.

Just started week 21 yesterday. She's now into the "no longer feeling sick" phase but she's pretty big for how far along she is. That translates into some body pains.

She's never been into massages or vibrating chairs or any of that stuff. Infact, she hates it. Makes my situation tougher. But in this case, I can see how she wouldn't want anyone making her pain worse.

Ooo, I certainly know how she feels. I've been there. :)

The best thing you can do if she doesn't want you to touch her is keep her mind off of it any way you can. Whatever she loves to do, do lots of it! Movies, television, video games, cards... and remember, even if her favorite thing is shopping (and shopping can really be painful when pregnant!) you can let her do some catalog and online shopping. Buy her some books or magazines if she likes those. Get her some crafts if she's into being "crafty".

Don't make her get up any more than she has to. BUT, don't let her stay on the couch constantly, either. I don't know how far along she is, but if she's getting close to her due date, as painful as it is she HAS to walk some, because that helps settle the baby's head and get her body ready for the birth.

Kudos to being a caring partner! :thumbsup

(edit) Oops, I just saw the post about 21 weeks. So yeah, she can be a little lazy now. Hehe. She needs all the rest she can get now while she's still relatively comfortable enough to do it, because once she hits about 6 or 7 months, sleep is going to be difficult to near impossible for the next 3 or 4 years. ;)

Yeah... keeping her mind off of it is a challenge but I'll give it a try.

I took her to the mall immediately after she got home. We walked all the way around it one time so she could check out the baby clothes in the department stores on each end. She really loves doing that.

Then we came back home and she had a hot tub and is now in bed.

It helps I guess, but I wish I could do more. She's really having it rough.

she refuses.. she knows that some things are ok even during pregnancy, but she doesn't want to anyway. She wants to be sure that nothing goes wrong, and that includes not having any kinds of medications in her system.

Dont give here Motrin.

Give her a bottle of Vodka to swig out of, thatll sooth the pains away ;)

Regards,

Lee
